FAQ
Q What is provided in the accommodation?
The Lodges are self-catering so you will need to bring your own provisions. However we do supply a few essentials.
Each lodge includes the following items to make your stay more comfortable.

Children and Infants: A travel cot and high chair are provided on request. Please note that neither bedding not a soft mattress is provided for the travel cot so you will need to bring this with you.
Q Do you accept pets?
No we do not accept any pets on site
Q How can I amend my booking?
If you made a booking via our website please log on and follow the instructions to amend your stay. For bookings made through Hoseasons the booking does not pass to Durham Coastal Lodges until the day of arrival. Therefore any amends need to be made through Hoseasons. If you cancel your booking before the date of arrival then Hoseasons will retain all monies paid, Durham Coastal Lodges do not receive any of the payments made.
Q Are the lodges wheelchair accessible?
All lodges are wheelchair accessible and have level access. Please note that the carpark is gravelled.
Q What time is check in/out?
Check in is between 4pm and 6pm (there is strictly no access to the site before 3.30pm). If you plan to arrive after 6pm please let us know an approx. time of arrival. Check out is before 10am.
Q Do you offer an early check in?
No unfortunately we are unable to offer an early check in.
Q Do you offer a late check out?
No unfortunately we are unable to offer a late check out.
Q How do I access the property?
As we are a small site we don't have a formal reception but we always aim to meet you on arrival. If we are a little delayed your keys will be in the outside of the door (after 4pm). Please let yourself in and we will pop over within an hour to give you a demonstration of the hot tub.
If you have visited us before then there will be no need for another demonstration so please let yourself in (after 4pm).
Q Can we have visitors to the lodge?
A couple of day visitors are welcome to the lodge for a couple of hours. We ask that all visitors vacate the lodge by 9pm. Parties or excessive number of guests are not permitted. If this occurs then all guests including the original party will be required to leave with immediate effect.
Q Is there wifi?
Yes we are currently receiving the best speeds available. We are a rural site and the internet can be intermittent.
Q Is electricity included?
Yes all electric is included with the exception of the EV chargers.
Q Is there EV chargers?
There is a dedicated 7kW charger at each lodge. These are charged at £25 for a weekend/mid week stay and £35 for a week stay. This is for one vehicle only and is payable in advance.
Q Is there a BBQ?
Yes there is a built in charcoal BBQ that is free to use but we do ask that the BBQ is cleaned after use. Please note that we don’t supply charcoal.
Q Is there outdoor seating?
Yes there is an outside table and chairs. We also supply sun chairs in the summer months.
Q Do you allow vans onsite?
We do not allow commercial vehicles on site. Vans required for mobility are welcome.
Q What time can we used the hot tub?
We do not put restrictions on hot tub use through the day but we do ask for all quiet on site after 11pm.
Q Is there a minimum age for the hot tub?
The minimum age for the hot tub is 5 years old.
Q Will the hot tub be hot on arrival?
All hot tubs are emptied and refilled on every changeover. This is done as quickly as possible. We aim to have the tubs hot as close to arrival time as possible. In the winter this may be a little later due to the filling water temperature being considerably lower.
Q Is there parking at the lodge?
There is parking for 2 cars at each lodge.
Q Can we get a take away delivered?
Yes there are menus in the lodge for take aways that deliver to our site. Please add the lodge name to the booking to avoid any confusion.
Q Can we get supermarket deliveries?
Yes all of the major supermarkets deliver to site. As each lodge doesn’t have an individual postal address you will need to use the site address and add the Lodge name in the delivery instructions:

Q Can I host a party?
No parties are not permitted in any lodge.
Q Are there quiet hours?
All quiet hours are between 11pm and 7am. No vehicle movement between these hours.
Q Can you have an outdoor fire?
No outdoor fires are allowed anywhere on site.
Q Do you have a play area?
Yes there is a small play area for the use of lodge quests and is only to be used by children 12 years and younger. The opening times are from 8am until dusk or 8pm whichever is soonest. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The play area may be closed in very wet conditions.
